Most of our present day Christian preachers teach against the Law, Prophets and most important Jesus Himself. By making statements such as, “we don’t have to keep that old law its been nailed to the cross.” These preachers use the books of Paul to make that statement. If that were true, that would mean no one would be able to sin. Why? Because if there is no law there is no sin. Sin is not imputed or no blame can be accredited to any person when there is no law. But, in I John 3:4 it states, “whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.” So if the law was nailed to the cross that would mean its okay to use the Lords name in vain, put other gods before HIM, make graven images and bow before them, pollute the Sabbath day, steal, commit murder, commit adultery and bear false witness. If all these things are okay to commit, then we might as well throw the Bible out the back door and do what ever feels good to us. Today we will find out what law was nailed to the cross. We will see that Paul was in fact a law keeper and how he preached out of the Law and the Prophets. Now let’s begin by taking a look at both of the laws and how they worked together. We will see there were two laws given to Moses, they were the commandments and the sacrificial law. Watch how they worked together.
And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, If a soul shall sin through ignorance against any of the commandments of the LORD concerning things which ought not to be done, and shall do against any of them: (Leviticus 4:1-2)
The law in the scriptures above is the commandments. Notice something else very important in these two scriptures. It states, “if a soul shall sin through ignorance.” Notice that the scripture did not says on purpose. Why? There is no sacrifice for a sin that is committed willfully. Let’s find out what was to be done if a person committed a sin against the Lord unintentionally. Let’s skip down to the 27th verse and take a look at the second law (which is the sacrificial law).
And if any one of the common people sin through ignorance, while he doeth somewhat against any of the commandments of the LORD concerning things which ought not to be done, and be guilty; Or if his sin, which he hath sinned, come to his knowledge: then he shall bring his offering, a kid of the goats, a female without blemish, for his sin which he hath sinned. And he shall lay his hand upon the head of the sin offering, and slay the sin offering in the place of the burnt offering. And the priest shall take of the blood thereof with his finger, and put it upon the horns of the altar of burnt offering, and shall pour out all the blood thereof at the bottom of the altar. (Leviticus 4:27-30)
When the common people sinned through ignorance and it came to their knowledge, what did they have to do? They brought an offering, a kid of the goats, a female without blemish, for their sin which they had committed, then the priest would offer the animal to the Lord. Think about this for a moment. If an animal was killed for a person that committed sin, what will happen to us today if we a trespass against the Lord? We will find that out later. Now we see how the sacrificial law was used when a person broke a commandment unintentionally. Let’s go into Paul’s writings and take another look at both of these laws. We will go into the Book of Galatians chapter 3. This is one of the chapters that the majority of Christian preachers use to do away with the Lord’s commandments. Now, let’s read carefully!
Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator. (Galatians 3:19)
Take heed to what Paul’s says above, “Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions.” What is transgression? Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. (I John 3:4) Transgression is braking of the commandments. What law was added because of the braking of the law? The sacrificial law! Paul is simply asking these Gentiles, “why perform the sacrificial law? It was added because of sin until the seed should come. Who is the seed? Let’s back up in this chapter and find out.
Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, and to seeds, as of many; but as of one, and to thy seed, which is Christ. (Galatians 3:16)
Who is the SEED? CHRIST! So, this law was added (which is the sacrificial law) until Christ came. What was the sacrificial law used for until Christ came?
Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. (Galatians 3:24)
The sacrificial law was our schoolmaster to bring us to Christ. Before we continue, we must clear one thing up. Are we justified by faith alone? Let’s see. Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law. (Romans 3:31) What law is established? Certainly not the sacrificial law, we have seen above that it was added because of transgression until the Seed came (which was Christ). The law established forever is the Lords commandments! Now, let’s back up in this chapter to the third verses and point out the two sets of laws.
Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh? (Galatians 3:3)
The spirit in this case is the word of God, but pay close attention to what Paul says at the end of the verse. “Are ye now made perfect by the flesh?” Can we be made perfect by the flesh? What flesh is Paul talking about? Let’s go to the book of Hebrews and find out.
For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect. (Hebrews 10:1)
The flesh Paul spoke of was the animal sacrifices. Notice what the verse says, “never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect.” That’s pretty clear don’t you think? Let’s go back to Galatians chapter 3 and take note how Paul uses the word “law” but does not say this is the sacrificial law or the Commandments. But as we read further in the chapter we will see the difference between the two.
For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them. (Galatians 3:10)
We have both Laws with in this verse. In the first part of the verse where it states, “For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse:” This law is the sacrificial law, let’s skip to the 13th verse and we will see this clearly.
Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: (Galatians 3:13)
Notice what’s being said, “Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us.” How was he made a curse for us? He took on our sins and redeemed us from the curse of the sacrificial law which could never take away sin. Now take a look at the next set of verses and we will see indeed that only the sacrificial law was nailed to the cross.
And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; (Colossians 2:13-14)
Notice this, “He quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross. Why was this law (which is the sacrificial law) contrary to us? Notice this in Hebrews the 10th chapter;
For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins. (Hebrews 10:4)
For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins. That is why it was contrary to us. The sacrificial law simply could not make us perfect. Now let’s look at the second half of the 13th verse in the book of Galatians chapter 3.
Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: (Galatians 3:13) Paul is simply quoting Moses, take a look:
His body shall not remain all night upon the tree, but thou shalt in any wise bury him that day; (for he that is hanged is accursed of God;) that thy land be not defiled, which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance. (Deuteronomy 21:23)
Go into the Book of John chapter 19 verse 31 and you will see that Jesus was removed from the cross before sun down. Let’s back up in Galatians chapter 3 to verses 10 and watch how we have a different law in the second half of the verse.
For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them. (Galatians 3:10)
This law is part of the commandments. Once again Paul, is quoting Moses, let’s take a look.
Cursed be he that confirmeth not all the words of this law to do them. And all the people shall say, Amen. (Deuteronomy 27:26)
Let’s take a look at some of these laws in Deuteronomy 27th chapter.
Cursed be he that perverteth the judgment of the stranger, fatherless, and widow. And all the people shall say, Amen. Cursed be he that lieth with his father’s wife; because he uncovereth his father’s skirt. And all the people shall say, Amen. Cursed be he that lieth with any manner of beast. And all the people shall say, Amen. Cursed be he that lieth with his sister, the daughter of his father, or the daughter of his mother. And all the people shall say, Amen. Cursed be he that lieth with his mother in law. And all the people shall say, Amen. Cursed be he that smiteth his neighbour secretly. And all the people shall say, Amen. Cursed be he that taketh reward to slay an innocent person. And all the people shall say, Amen. Cursed be he that confirmeth not all the words of this law to do them. And all the people shall say, Amen. (Deuteronomy 27:19-26)
After reading through some of these commandments ask yourself, what’s wrong with these laws? If we say we are followers of the Lord shouldn’t we keep ourselves from doing these things? Yes! If the sacrificial law was the only law taken away when Jesus was nailed to the cross, which would mean all the other laws are still intact. Commandments, High and Holy Sabbaths, weekly Sabbaths and the Dietary law . We can’t stop here. Let’s go to the Book of I Timothy chapter one and see if Paul kills the Lords commandments.
Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned: (I Timothy 1:5)
What does he mean the end of the commandment is charity? What is charity? It means love fore mankind correct? Now take a look at these verses in the Book of Romans.
Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law. For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law. (Romans 13:8-10)
Take heed to what Paul says, “love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law. Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love (which is charity) is the fulfilling of the law. Paul says, “If you LOVE your neighbor you will not, commit adultery, kill, steal, bear false witness nor covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. Once again Paul is quoting from the books Moses! As a matter of fact Paul was quoting the Lord God, remember the Lord gave the Laws to Moses. Take a look:
Thou shalt not kill. Thou shalt not commit adultery. Thou shalt not steal. Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour’s. (Exodus 20:13-17)
What do we see here? We see Paul is inline with the rest of the Bible. He is not trying to do away with the Lords commandments. It is the false prophets that do not read the entire book from Genesis to Revelation! They are trying to do away with the Lord’s laws. Paul was well aware that the law was to be kept. Pay close attention to what the Chief Apostles says about Paul’s writings.
Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless. And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you; As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction. Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness. (II Peter 3:14-17)
Pay very close attention to what Peter says, “in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.” If we are not familiar with the whole Bible, we will never get any understanding of the Word of God. My advice to those that are seeking the Lord, read the entire Bible, don’t start at the Book of Acts and stop at the Book of Hebrews. Read from the beginning to the end, meaning from Genesis to Revelation. Now let’s go back to the book of I Timothy and pick up were we left off…
From which some having swerved have turned aside unto vain jangling; Desiring to be teachers of the law; understanding neither what they say, nor whereof they affirm. But we know that the law is good, if a man use it lawfully; Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, (I Timothy 1:6-8)
Notice what Paul says, “we know that the law is good, if a man use it lawfully. Knowing this that the law is not made for a righteous man.” Why isn’t the law for the righteous? If we are righteous we are keeping the law. Remember the Biblical definition of sin is; whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. (I John 3:4) So the law is for whom? For the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for men stealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine. Looks like Paul is preaching “keep the law” like the rest of the Lord’s disciples. The people that teach against the Lord’s commandments teach traditions of men. Now let’s take a look at II Timothy chapter 4. This is one of the places were these ungodly preachers go to try to do away with the Lord’s dietary law. Pay close attention and we will see these verses have to do with a religious organization and not to do away with the Lord’s dietary law.
Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; (I Timothy 4:1)
Notice this, “in the latter times some shall depart from the faith.” In the latter or final times some will depart or leave the belief. Doctrines of devils? Here are a few of them; Sunday is the Lord’s day, believe in the Lord only without works and make it into the kingdom of heaven, born again already and so on and so on. Let’s skip to the third verse;
Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth. (I Timothy 4:3)
We cannot skip the part of the verse were it states, “Forbidding to marry.” Remember in the first verse it says, “that in latter time some shall depart from the faith.” Forbidding to marry is braking one of the Lord’s first commandments that was given to man, which was, to be fruitful and multiply and replenish the earth. What organization forbids its ministers to marry? The Roman Catholic church. Pick up your encyclopedia and look up the “Benedictine Order” and you will see exactly what Paul is talking about. What does Paul mean to abstain from meats, which were created to be received? Who does this, during the pagan festival called “Lent”? The Roman Catholic Church. Now, let’s take a look at the next verse and see where these unlearned and unstable preachers try to kill the Lord’s dietary law.
For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving: (I Timothy 4:4)
Every creature is good that God created and they all serve a purpose, but these false prophets always skip the next verse. Take a look:
For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer. (I Timothy 4:5)
What does sanctified mean? It means set apart. The meats that are created to be received are set apart in Leviticus the 11th chapter. Only those who know and believe the truth know that we cannot pray over meats, which God has deemed unclean. If we eat unclean meats that are not created to be received, we have transgressed the Lord’s commandments. The Lord does not hear a prayer of a sinner. Let’s take a look at the prophet Isaiah and see what the Lord Jesus thinks about people that eat unclean meats.
I am sought of them that asked not for me; I am found of them that sought me not: I said, Behold me, behold me, unto a nation that was not called by my name. I have spread out my hands all the day unto a rebellious people, which walketh in a way that was not good, after their own thoughts; A people that provoketh me to anger continually to my face; that sacrificeth in gardens, and burneth incense upon altars of brick; Which remain among the graves, and lodge in the monuments, which eat swine’s flesh, and broth of abominable things is in their vessels; Which say, Stand by thyself, come not near to me; for I am holier than thou. These are a smoke in my nose, a fire that burneth all the day. (Isaiah 65:1-5)
Take heed to what the Lord says about people who eat swine’s flesh (PIG), “These are a smoke in my nose, a fire that burneth all the day.” Notice something else, “Which say, Stand by thyself, come not near to me; for I am holier than thou.” This lets us know these aren’t the people in the streets, such as the dope man, pimps or prostitutes, these are so-called church people. Why? When is the last time you’ve heard a dope pusher say, “I’m holier than thou.” Never! Let’s take a look what will happen to these so-called church people that eat things that are an abomination unto us.
For by fire and by his sword will the LORD plead with all flesh: and the slain of the LORD shall be many. They that sanctify themselves, and purify themselves in the gardens behind one tree in the midst, eating swine’s flesh, and the abomination, and the mouse, shall be consumed together, saith the LORD. (Isaiah 66:16-17)
Notice what the LORD said, “the slain of the LORD shall be many. They that sanctify themselves, eating swine’s flesh, and the abomination, shall be consumed together,” saith the LORD. Why will they be consumed? And the swine, though he divide the hoof, and be clovenfooted, yet he cheweth not the cud; he is unclean to you. Of their flesh shall ye not eat, and their carcase shall ye not touch; they are unclean to you. (Leviticus 11:7-8) For I am the LORD your God: ye shall therefore sanctify yourselves, and ye shall be holy; for I am holy: neither shall ye defile yourselves with any manner of creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. (Leviticus 11:44) Remember sin is the transgression of the Law! Eating the pig is breaking of the Lord’s commandments. Now let’s return to Paul’s writings and see where the unlearned use scripture to say Lord’s Sabbath was done away with.
And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight. (Acts 20:7)
Pay close attention to what’s being said. The verse states, “Upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread.” What were the disciples doing? They were simply eating, and talking about the Word of God. The next part of the verse, “Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight.” The verse says, “Continued his speech until midnight.” If he preached until midnight when did he begin his speech? Remember the beginning of the verse said, “Upon the first day of the week.” The Lord’s days begins at sundown. When the verse states upon the first day of the week it was sundown on the 7th day of the week and his speech continue on into the first day of the week. Let’s skip to the 11th verse.
When he therefore was come up again, and had broken bread, and eaten, and talked a long while, even till break of day, so he departed. (Acts 20:11)
Where did we see in these verses, thus sayeth the Lord God of Israel, “My Sabbath day will not be kept because Paul preached from sundown on the 7th day of the week, until sunup on the first day of the week.” These unlearned and unstable preachers teach this. Nowhere from Genesis to Revelations can we read that the Lords Sabbath day has been taken away or changed to the first day of the week. Now, Let see if Paul observed the Lord’s Sabbath day.
Now when Paul and his company loosed from Pathos, they came to Perga in Pamphylia: and John departing from them returned to Jerusalem. But when they departed from Perga, they came to Antioch in Pisidia, and went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and sat down. (Acts 13:13-14)
What did Paul and his company do? Went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and sat down. Why would Paul do that? Because it is the LAW! (Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the Sabbath of rest, an holy convocation; ye shall do no work therein: it is the Sabbath of the LORD in all your dwellings (Leviticus 23:3.) Let’s look at the next verse and see what they read.
And after the reading of the law and the prophets the rulers of the synagogue sent unto them, saying, Ye men and brethren, if ye have any word of exhortation for the people, say on. (Acts 13:15)
What were they reading out of? The law and the prophets! Read the rest of this chapter and you will see Paul was quoting out of the Law and the Prophets. Now let’s take another look at a place in Paul’s writings where the Roman Christians try to avoid the Lord’s commandments.
For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace. (Romans 6:14)
What law are we not under? The Sacrificial Law. If we back up or even go forward in this chapter Paul is still talking about sin. If there is no law there is no sin. So why should Paul continue to talk about sin if the law was nailed to the cross? Let’s go to Romans chapter 5 and we will see Paul explaining to these Gentiles that if there is no law you cannot sin. Take a look!
For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law. (Romans 5:13)
Look at the first part of this verse. “For until the law sin was in the world.” What does Paul mean by this? If sin was in the world before this law what does that tell us? Once again we have two laws, as we have seen in Galatians chapter 3. Paul is simply saying, “For until the sacrificial law, sin was in the world.” But sin is not imputed when there is no law. What does imputed mean? (Credit to or Blame) Once again, what is the biblical definition of sin? Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. (I John 3:4) Take a look at this verse in Galatians again.
Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator. (Galatians 3:19)
Note what the verse says, “It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come.” And who was that SEED? Christ! Once He came, what happened? Let’s let the Prophet Daniel answer this question.
And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined. And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate. (Daniel 9:27)
Note what the scripture says, “after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself.” Who was cut off or killed for us? By which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. (Hebrews 10:10)
When the Messiah was cut off, what happened? He caused the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, not the Lord commandments. So far we have seen that Paul and the Prophets are on the same page. Let’s take a look at Jesus for a moment. What we will do now is see that Jesus was the God of the Old Testament as well as the New and He was in fact the God that gave the commandments to Moses. In the Old Testament, Jesus had entire nations destroyed and individuals stoned to death for breaking His commandments. What makes this modern day Christian think he or she can walk into the kingdom of God on belief alone and no works (which is keeping the law)? Would that be fair to the people that were killed for breaking the Lord Jesus’ commandments? No! Let’s begin in the book of John chapter one and identify the Lord Jesus in the Old Book.
No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him. (John 1:18)
Notice what the verse says, “No man hath seen God at any time.” If no man has seen God at anytime that covers all time, correct? Well who is this in the mountain?
And he said unto Moses, Come up unto the LORD, thou, and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel; and worship ye afar off. (Exodus 24:1)
Here we see the Lord told Moses to bring, Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel to come up unto Him. Let’s see what happens next.
Then went up Moses, and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel: And they saw the God of Israel: and there was under his feet as it were a paved work of a sapphire stone, and as it were the body of heaven in his clearness. And upon the nobles of the children of Israel he laid not his hand: also they saw God, and did eat and drink. (Exodus 24:9-10)
Remember, that in John chapter one verse 18 states, “No man hath seen God at any time.” Anytime will cover all time, but above, in Exodus, it states seventy-four people saw the God of Israel. Let go back to the book of John and see exactly what he meant by no man has seen God at any time.
TO BE CONTINUED

You cannot supercede the fact that God’s word says that the old law was nailed to the cross. The old law is decaying and waxing old as it says in (Hebrews 8:8-13) The new covenant has laws, all the same as the 10 commandments except for the sabbath. If the old law were not nailed to the cross and fulfilled by Jesus Christ then we should all be sacrificing animals every time we sin and stoning eachother. Jesus Christ fulfilled the old law like no man could, therefore he made a new covenant in which we are to follow, those that believe. Instead of offering sacrifices for sin we now repent and ask for forgiveness, for the ultimate sacrifice was given!

Dear CoCo,
I would very much appreciate if you would at least read the Post and scripture references, before attacking Biblical doctrine, lest you find yourself blaspheming the Holy Spirit (the Word of God).
You cannot supercede the fact that God’s word says that the old law was nailed to the cross.
No, you supercede the facts: the Law that was done away with is the Law of Animal Sacrifice. Why? “Because the blood of bulls and goats could never make the comers thereunto perfect”. You had better wake up and smell the coffee. Go back to the Bible basics and read it for yourself. Read what God has to say not some man-made doctrine.
The old law is decaying and waxing old as it says in (Hebrews 8:8-13)
Read this carefully:
Hebrews 10
1For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect.
2For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins.
3But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again made of sins every year.
4For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.
5Wherefore when He cometh into the world, He saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared Me: 6In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure.
7Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of Me,) to do thy will, O God.
8Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein; which are offered by the law; 9Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second.
Jesus took away the blood covering of animals for sin (the first) and placed His blood covering on the altar (thereby establishing the second).
10By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
You do understand once for all, right?
18Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.
19Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, 20By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh; 21And having an high priest over the house of God; 22Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.
What is this “pure water”? It is the Word of God (Genesis – Revelation).
26For if we sin willfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, 27But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.28He that despised Moses’ law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:
29Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?
The new covenant has laws, all the same as the 10 commandments except for the sabbath.
Please tell me where in my Bible can I find this? I know that you can not, so let me direct you to Isaiah 56 (which is future prophetic), and you may find the need to re-evaluate that statement.
If the old law were not nailed to the cross and fulfilled by Jesus Christ then we should all be sacrificing animals every time we sin and stoning each other.
There is no need for sacrificing animals, Jesus was that “Lamb without spot or blemish”. The final Sacrifice!
Jesus Christ fulfilled the old law like no man could, therefore he made a new covenant in which we are to follow, those that believe.
Not only did he fulfill the Law of Animal Sacrifice He obeyed every other commandment, especially “Remembering the Sabbath Day”.
Instead of offering sacrifices for sin we now repent and ask for forgiveness, for the ultimate sacrifice was given!
You, and the majority of modern day Christendom forget that those whom Jesus forgave their sins, He also told “Go and sin no more”. Do you have any idea what the Biblical definition of Sin is?
1 John 3: 4Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
Once again I reiterate, read the Bible for what it says; not what you think, or have been told, that it says.

Thank you for your reply. I most definately agree with 99.9% of what you have read that is the truth. Most definately I understand that all the 10 commandments are under the new covenant, but I still don’t see the sabbath as a commandment under the new covenant because I am confused about Colossians 2:16 (After he speaks about the ordinances contrary to us being nailed to the cross) it then reads, “Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of a holy day, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days.” If we are still commanded to keep sabbath holy then why would that scripture read as it did? I’m not making that a statement, I really just want to know how you understand it, because I may not be understanding it in the fullness thereof. I really just want to understand the truth. And it seems you were a little angry with my previous email that I sent to you and told me to wake up and smell the coffee. All I want are answers. I didn’t mean to come across as condemning. I only want to know the truth. our words should be seasoned with salt. I have been asking many questions about scripture and people either laugh at me or tell me I’m listening to the devil. So I apologize if I came across condemning. I was actually looking for the truth. And I appreciate the time you took to give me the scriptural response. I will certainly study those scriptures and hope you explain the Colossians 2:16 that I may understand it for the truth. Thank you. ~CoCo

Good Morning Coco,
I was not angry, I was just stating a fact. It is just that when we call ourselves Christians we seem to forget that the word means to be “Christ like” and nothing in today’s modern day Christendom reflects the image of Christ. Forgive me if I came across contentiously.
I am wondering if the reading of Isaiah 56 has given you any clarity on the Sabbath? Regarding that scripture in Colosians 2, the verse says “let no man judge you, with which I agree, however, when we stand before the Judgment seat of God, He will judge us:
Ecclesiastes 12:13Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
14For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
I will have a clearer explanation later today. Thank you for seeking the truth.
Peace

I see that you stopped reading in Colossians 2, at verse 16. You should have read the next verse Colossians 2:17, which tells us that the Holy Days (Feast Days) and the Sabbath Days are a “shadow of thing to come”.
Now, let’s take a look at a few scriptures and see if the Sabbath is still to be kept on the seventh day of the week (Saturday). First, turn to Hebrews 13:8. Jesus is the Same Yesterday and Today and Forever. In Malachi 3:6 we are told that the Lord changes not. What most people don’t understand is that it is the Lord that gave the commandments to Moses and Israel, when He brought them out of Egypt. So, if the Lord changes not and is the same as He was when He gave the commandments to Israel, how can anyone say that the Sabbath Day has changed? The Sabbath is a sign between God and His people Ezekiel 20:11-12, 19-20).
If you go to church on Saturday you may be serving the True and Living God of Israel, but if you go to church on Sunday, the first day of the week, you definitely are not serving the True God, no matter what anyone tells you. Jesus is the Lord of the Sabbath Day, Matthew 12:8; Mark 2:28, the seventh day (Saturday).
The Sabbath Day represents something that is yet to happen. Turn to Leviticus 23:1-4. Here you read that the Lord starts talking about the Feast Days (High Sabbaths), that you should keep in their seasons. The first one He speaks of is the weekly Sabbath, which also is the one in the Ten Commandments, Exodus 20:8-11. He also mentions the Sabbaths in Exodus 31:12-17, especially the weekly Sabbath.
If you read the 23th chapter of Leviticus you will find all of the Lord’s Sabbaths, which we are to keep in their seasons. Each one of these Sabbaths represent a coming event, or as Paul stated, “…a shadow of things to come”, Colossians 2:17. You see, if you understand the twenty-third chapter of Leviticus, you will understand God’s plan.
Take the weekly Sabbath: it represents the Lord’s coming to the earth to reign for a thousand years with His Saints, Revelation 20:4-6, for a thousand years is as one day with the Lord; Psalms 90:1-4, 2 Peter 3:8. Every time you observe the Sabbath you are looking for the Day of the Lord to come when there will be peace on the Earth. You will want to enter into His rest, in other words, you want to be in the first resurrection.
Read Psalms 95:1-11; Hebrews 3:15-18; Hebrews 4:1-4. As you read these Scriptures you can see that the Lord is talking about the seventh day the Day of the Lord, which is yet to come and that the people that were in the wilderness will not be coming up in the first resurrection, “…they will not enter into My rest.”
There is much more in Scripture that proves what the weekly Sabbath represents, as spoken of in Leviticus 23, which is still to be observed, also how the other Sabbaths in Leviticus 23 are to be observed “for ever”.
I invite you to join our congregation via the internet, this Sabbath, July 24th, 2010. We have two services 10:00 am and 1:30 pm @

CoCo,
What Law are you talking about what Old Law? Please explain what you mean when you say, “The Law (10 Commandments) is the same, except for the Sabbath??
When the Lord said that He would make a new covenant with the house of Israel (Jeremiah 31:31-33) He was writing the very same Laws on their hearts instead of two tablets of stone (Exodus 31:12-18). As for the new covenant, Jesus reinstituted the bread and wine, (Matthew 26:26-28), which took the place of animal sacrifices. You see, you have confused the two Laws which Paul was talking about: the Royal Law (Exodus 20:1-17).
If you will read Hebrews 10th chapter, you will see that Paul is talking about animal sacrifices for sin. Which he also explained “could never take away our sins”.
That is why Jesus had a body prepared for Him, so that He could come and die for our sins, and with His death the Sacrificial Law was nailed to the cross, because it was no more (Colossians 2:14). After Jesus came and died for our sins.
The Sacrificial Law for sin, was our school master (Galatians 3:24). Also this Law was added because of sin, (Galatians3:19). Now, you tell me, what Law could have been added because of sin, if the Biblical definition of sin is: Sin is the transgression of the Law (1John 3:4).
Therefore, what Law was added? The Sacrificial Law, (Leviticus 4:1-2), however, the blood of bulls and goats could never take away sin, that is why the Lord came in the flesh to die for us, (Hebrews 10:1-12).
There is much more that can be spoken of, but I want to understand exactly what you are talking about regarding the Sabbath being different.
Peace,
Bro Tyrone

Hello CoCo,
I was waiting and hoping to hear from you regarding the Sabbath Day Live Class, which streams live via the internet. The July 24th lesson title was Sabbath Day: Who Gave It? Who Changed It? I have received no response from you, though you say that you hunger for the truth, however when you hear it, you really do not hear it at all; John 10:1-5.
If you knew the Lord, you would follow Him and flee from strangers who say the Law of God is “no more”. For the Law is every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the Lord (God); Deuteronomy 8:3, Matthew 4:4, Luke 4:4) and sin is the breaking of God’s word (Law); 1John 3:4.
Can you show me where God said, by His mouth that you do not have to keep His Sabbaths, when He has clearly said “this you shall do throughout your generations”, or where you can eat anything you want.
I see you quoted; Acts 10, however, this is not talking about food. You continue to quote Paul’s writings, but you should remember what Peter said; 2Peter 3:11-18. Paul’s writings are hare to understand because “they know not the scriptures”, (the Old Testament).
For your information, Moses had no Law, the Bible says that the LORD spoke to Moses and Moses spoke to the people, telling them what the LORD had said. You can not read anywhere in the Bible where the LORD told Paul, “Go tell the people they can eat anything”, nor any of the other things which you attribute to Paul in regards to the Law being no more.
Quite to the contrary, Paul said that he believed everything written in the Law and the Prophet; Acts24:14, Acts 26:22. So I ask, “What voice do you hear? Certainly, not the voce of the Lord’s (Jesus).
Hoping to hear from you soon,
Tyrone
p.s. Come join us any and every Saturday via the internet.
